Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science is one of the most diligently setup departments at GIH. The team includes specialist Ophthalmologists, Ophthalmic assistants and optometrists to provide a holistic care to the patients. Ophthalmic evaluation for Refractive error, Diabetic/ Hypertensive retinopathy, glaucoma and squint/ Orthoptics, contact lens fitting services are available.

There are two dedicated Eye Operation Theaters equipped with state of the art machines and cover most ophthalmic procedures and surgeries ranging from Pterygium excision, cataract surgery (Phacoemulsification. Small Incision Cataract Surgery), Eyelid surgeries like blepharoplasty, ptosis correction, Dacryocystorhinostomy and Eyelid tumor reconstruction. Ocular imaging facilities; Fundus photography, Optical Coherence tomography, Humphrey Visual field, Laser machines for Yag Capsulotomy. Peripheral Iridectomy services are also provided at the department.
